Boxed Wine is the New Black

Friday, June 19th, 2009

untitled-1

Um, has anyone noticed that the new slew of boxed wines are pretty great? If you haven’t, I have taken the liberty of testing multiple brands and flavors for your future tasting pleasures.

1. Black Box: This is the priciest of the bunch, but by far the yummiest. I have enjoyed the Cabernet Sauvignon and it is quite good. It is still out of a box, but certainly no Franzia.

2. Bota Box: I have tried the Cabernet Savignon and the Old Vine Zinfindel. I enjoy the cabernet more, and neither is as good as the Black Box varieties, but still a good bang for your buck.

3. Target Cube: 4 bottles of decent wine for the price of one. These are at any Target store and really go the distance and their cube is by far the best packaging.

The biggest selling point to buying boxed wine, you get the equivalent of 4 bottles of wine in one box!  All in all, well worth your minimal investment. Great for parties and pretty good with dinner.

outfits

I know you were holding your breath to see a couple of my outfit pictures. Well, isn’t it just your lucky day. The two with the gray jeans were from our trip to New Orleans (multi-tasking suckers) and I wore the dress to a birthday party over the weekend.

First picture:

Dress/Shirt – Gianni Bini at Dillard’s, on sale for 70% off. Gray jeans – Forever 21. Black Flats – Banana Republic Outlet in Austin, TX. Locket – Urban Outfitters.

Second picture: (My Target Special)

Dress – Target, on sale for $9.99! Sandals – Target, many seasons ago. Locket – Urban Outfitters.

Third picture:

Blouse – Vera Wang for Kohl’s. Gray Jeans – Forever 21. Gladiator Sandals – Small (random) store in NYC. Locket – Urban Outfitters. Headband – Target.

Obviously, I like those jeans and that locket. I tend to have favorites and wear things over and over again. I am on the hunt for some new additions to my wardrobe, so I look forward to sharing them with you.
