Button, Button, Who’s Got the Button?
I bought this cute little plaid dress on sale at a boutique in Park Slope a few weeks ago. I think the only reason it was on sale was because of said button. Seemed a bit silly to me, but I was more than happy to snatch it up.
Until I have the time (ahem, motivation) to make a proper repair and sew a new one on, I used the belt below as a quick fix.
Et voilà!
May not need a repair after all. My shoes are a Gap purchase and the belt, Urban Outfitters.

Aw, it’s cute. I think I would like it with the belt better anyways – so it’s perfect!
Love it! I worked at the Gap in college, and we had to discount items that were “damaged” even if it was as minor as missing a button. I always thought it was dumb that they would mark an item as 20% off instead of taking 2 minutes to sew a new button on. Their loss, right?
Take off the very top button and move it down (if there is no extra button *inside* the dress?). You’re never gonna button the top button.
This is one of those where I agree and disagree, like and dislike.. can’t make my mind up.
