Topshop
I remember seeing the paparazzi outside for the Grand Opening of the new four-level, 28,000 square foot British chain, Topshop, and wondering what all the buzz was about. I hadn't heard much about it before. I must have been living under a rock. Here is Kate Moss, who designs a line for them, at the Opening. And you can read about the two nights of opening parties and see who was in attendance at style.com.
I finally got a chance to go to the new SoHo store this weekend. I was, well, underwhelmed. The way they have the store setup makes it difficult to maneuver. I was unimpressed with the selection and I thought most of the items were over the top. I also found it a bit overpriced. I am interested to hear what other New Yorkers think about the new store, and what those who have visited the website think. The one positive is that they do have a tall, petite, and maternity section. I may give it one more shot, but you know what they say about first impressions. Everyone keeps saying how the competition should be shaking in their boots, but sorry Topshop, but this girl is sticking with H&M.
